Creating dependencies
At the top of the Planner, you'll find the Dependencies button. It controls whether the dependency arrows are visible in the Planner.
Here's how:
Open the Planner.
Click the Dependencies button at the top.
Hiding them only removes the visual display – existing dependencies remain intact.
To create dependencies, switch to planning mode. Hover your mouse over the edge of a task card there, and a crosshair appears. Use it to drag the connection to the task you want.
The dependency type is determined automatically by which edges you drag from and to: dragging from the end of one task to the start of the next creates a Finish-to-Start type by default. Dragging from start to end creates Start-to-Finish.
You can change the type at any time via the menu on an existing dependency, for example to Finish-to-Finish.
You can also add a minimum distance in days to a dependency – for example, when a certain number of days should always lie between two tasks. If this distance between the linked tasks isn't maintained, a conflict occurs.
Click an existing dependency arrow.
In the menu, select the type you want and/or enter a distance.
Instead of linking every task individually, you can select multiple tasks and create or remove the dependencies as a chain all at once. This creates a Finish-to-Start relationship by default.
Select the tasks you want.
Right-click → Dependencies → choose the option to create the chain.
To remove them: right-click → Dependencies → Remove dependencies.
Tip: Creating and adjusting dependencies is also captured by the undo/redo function.
Selection and usage across components
Using the menu on a dependency arrow, or by selecting a task, you can specifically select all successors, all predecessors, or the entire chain – useful before you move tasks.
Here's how:
Click a dependency arrow or select a task.
Open the Selection menu.
Choose whether the chain should be selected forward, backward, or in full.
Dependencies are also available to you as an information parameter. In all components, you can display predecessors, successors, and conflicts, filter by them, and color tasks accordingly – both in the task list and in the 3D model.
