🔍 What Are Expense Types?

In specter, you can use so-called expense types to structure and visualize tasks. They work similarly to trades and are color-coded in the model, on printouts, and in the Lookahead Plan.

Expense types help you:

  • Structure the task list

  • Visualize tasks by color in the model and Lookahead Plan

  • Organize work preparation more clearly

🛠️ Edit or Add Expense Types

You’ll find the expense types under Menu > Work Preparation > Expense Types.

Here you can:

  • Edit existing expense types (e.g. rename or change color)

  • Add new expense types

  • Delete unused expense types

🔒 Note:

Expense types that are already in use in the model cannot be deleted – but you can still edit them (e.g. change their color).

🧪 Create a New Expense Type

  1. Click the plus icon (+).

  2. Enter a name (e.g. “Test”).

  3. Choose a color.

  4. Click Save.

The new expense type will then be available when creating or editing tasks.

🔄 Import Expense Types from Another Project

If you’ve already set up expense types in another project, you can easily import them – including their colors.

Click Import and select one of your existing projects from the list. You’ll see all projects you've worked on in specter.

🗂️ Assign an Expense Type to a Task

When editing a task, you can select the desired expense type in the Expense Type field. Newly created types will be available here immediately.
