Step-by-Step Guide

Create a new report

Create the report from scratch. To do so, select the 3D model component and the viewer opens. Helpful tip: switch to full screen at the top to get more space.

Set up coloring

To display the day's work in color in the report, first set up the coloring. By default, you can use the Trades per day coloring. It colors the objects of the tasks taking place today.

Filter objects

The report should not show all objects of the model, but only the components where work is actually happening. To do this, filter by Task date and select the objects with tasks on today's date.

So that the objects don't float in space without context, activate the context filter Show related objects. The floor is selected there by default, so the objects are displayed together with the other objects on the same floor.

Set up the 2D view

For the 2D display, look at the model from below – use the gimbal at the bottom left for this. You can also define the angle from which the model is displayed.

Separate pages by floor

With the default settings, specter generates a single page showing all floors without any distinction or legend. Using the Print properties at the bottom, you can instead generate multiple pages, separated by a parameter.

Here's how:

  1. Open the Print properties.

  2. Select Floor as the separation.

  3. Check the pages in the report: in the example, three pages are created, one per floor.

Zoom to visible objects

If the display is still too small, you can activate the Zoom to visible objects option. The objects are then automatically centered so that the space on the page is used as much as possible. A manual zoom in the viewer is also kept in the report, but the report then needs to be refreshed.

Generate the report for several days

The report always refers to the date set in the viewer, since coloring and filter apply to the respective day. You can change the date, for example to Friday, 16.10. If you want to create several days at once, use the repeat settings.

Here's how:

  1. Set the desired start date.

  2. Under repetitions, define how often and over what period the report is generated, for example for 4 consecutive days.

  3. If needed, remove the separation by floor, otherwise you get one page per floor for each day.

  4. Click Refresh.

In the example, four pages are created, one for each day starting from 16.10. No tasks are planned on Saturday and Sunday, so these pages are empty. On Monday, information is displayed again.

Hide empty pages

So that days without tasks don't appear in the report, you can hide empty pages. To do so, tick the corresponding checkbox. In the example, only the one page with tasks remains.
