Step-by-Step Guide
Generate a report from the current view
The quickest way to a report: you generate it directly from the view you currently have open in the dashboard. The components appear in the report exactly as you configured them.
Open the components you need in the dashboard and configure them, for example the Object status in the 3D model and the construction schedule.
Click Print view at the top right.
Update the view.
Check the generated preview: you'll see the 3D model with progress and legend as well as the construction schedule, as configured.
Convert the report to a PDF with one more click. The PDF is saved and you can share it.
The Reports page and ways to create a report
On the Reports page, you'll find all saved reports and templates in one place. From here you can also create new reports.
Click the Reports tab in the menu at the top left.
On the left, you'll see the overview of your saved reports and the available templates.
Choose one of the three options to create a new report.
You have these three options:
From the current view: the report contains exactly what you currently have open in the dashboard.
From a template: use the predefined inspector templates or your own templates. You'll find more in the article on report templates.
From scratch: you configure the report completely yourself.
Configure a report from scratch
When you create a new report, you'll find two areas: the Configuration and the Print settings. In the Configuration, you select the components that should appear in the report.
Select a component in the Configuration, for example the planner. It is loaded just as you know it from the dashboard.
Set up the component as usual.
Alternatively, open the component from a view you have saved as a default.
Add more components and configure them with filters and views as needed.
Tip: if the window is too small, display the component in large size. Then you'll see the full width of your screen.
This works for all components. Just try it out and add the components you need in your report.
Print settings and separating pages
In the Print settings, you define how your report looks as a PDF. You can collapse the area if needed. Here's how:
Choose the paper format and portrait or landscape orientation. The default setting is automatic.
Use Separate by to define the criterion at which new pages begin, for example a separate page for each building.
Click Update to see the report preview of the pages.
For example, without page separation, all construction sections of a building appear together on one page. If you separate the pages by building, specter creates a separate planner page for each building, here three pages for House 1a, House 1b and House 1c. The reference plan stays a single page.
Use filters in the report
You can filter content either for individual components or for the entire report.
Set a filter directly in a component, for example only concrete pours in the planner. This filter only applies to that component. A weekly table you add still shows all tasks.
Set a global filter at the top of the report, for example for concrete. It is applied to all components, in the planner as well as in the weekly table.
You can create multiple filters and select them as needed.
Edit and save a report
Once the report is configured, you can print it directly as a PDF or edit it further first. Editing works similarly to a PDF editor.
If needed, add images to the report or add text, for example a note in red.
Enter a name for the report at the top.
Save the report. It then appears in the overview of saved reports.
Copy and adjust a report
You can create a copy of a saved report and adjust it without changing the original report.
Create a copy of the report.
Adjust the copy, for example with a second planner component.
Update the report so the additional pages are generated.
Enter a new name, for example Test report 2, and save it as a new report.
Afterwards, you'll find both reports in your overview.
