You can use object tags in your 3D model to group elements into meaningful zones. This is especially helpful when you want to visually structure your project or align specific tasks with a particular area.

In this article we will show you

  • How to tag selected objects in the model

  • How to create and name custom object tags

  • How object tags automatically apply to related tasks

  • How to view zones based on tags in the structure

Step-by-step guide

Tag objects to define zones in your model

  1. In the 3D model, select the objects you want to group (e.g., a floor slab or wall section).

  2. Right-click your selection and choose Manage tags.

  3. Click Create tag and enter a name like Zone 1.

  4. Confirm to apply the tag — you'll now see all selected objects labeled with the new tag.

  5. Repeat the process for another section of the model, for example Zone 2.

  6. Any tasks already planned for these objects will also inherit the tag automatically.

Display zones in the structure view

  1. In the lookahead plan, make sure the Structure by option is set to Object tag.

  2. This groups components under their respective tags (e.g., Zone 1, Zone 2), making it easier to manage and navigate your project.
